Holy crap, Stacked GrubHub missions!

So I don’t know what been going on with GrubHub the last couple of nights, but they have been throwing out multiple missions, (plus $3 per 1 delivery) at the same time. Last night 3 missions popped up so I jumped in my car, and by the time i made my first delivery their were 7 active missions. I thought it must just be a glitch, but wanted to see what happened. Once I finished that first delivery, my phone got the first notification of the completed $3 mission, and then 6 more came through! Thats an extra $21 bucks per order! I ran one more delivery and got another stack of 7 completed missions, which left me with an extra $42 plus the deliveries.. not bad for less than an hour of work.

Then it happened again today, this time it was a stack of 4 active missions of plus $3 per delivery, and after 4 deliveries I had an extra $48 plus the deliveries. I was pretty excited to see this happen again, but pretty exhausted from a day of doing deliveries and I had to get home to make dinner for the family.

As i made dinner, listening to “The Last Podcast on the Left”, I heard that familiar ding, and then another and another. All told their were 10 missions active for about an hour, thats an extra $30 per delivery!!,. but I was knee deep in dinner making, so I ended up missing it! Even though I told my fiancé ”its happening again!!” and she was like “there goes dinner, good luck babe”, but in the end i didn’t end up heading back out.

So what is going on here?? Is Grubhub glitching out to our benefit? Or are they just really hard up for drivers in my area? Anyone else seeing this happen, if so leave a comment below and let us know what your seeing!

::update::

So while the super stack of 10x 3$ a delivery hasn’t happened again, today there was a smaller stack of larger missions.

One for $18 for 6 orders, and one for $24 also for 6 orders. I hate these kind of missions because of the stipulation that you cant miss more than 2 orders, so you have to commit to taking basically all the orders Grubhub gives you. However I try to think about things tactically, and even taking a few crappy orders ends up being worth it after getting an extra $42!

Jayme

Hi, my names Jayme, and I was a delivery driver for two years before the pandemic. Now I’ve decided to try my hand at the gig economy, mostly GrubHub & DoorDash, after not being able to get my pre-pandemic job back. Here’s my story in blog format!
